Countries open to Indians now, and their requirements

Due to the recent spike in COVID 19 cases, a lot of countries had restricted Indian travelers from entering their country. The Director-General of Civil Aviation banned commercial international flights till July 30th. Now that the numbers are declining, many countries have opened their doors for Indian travelers. With RT PCR test reports, vaccine certificates, or short quarantines, Indians can resume international traveling.

1. Canada

Famous for gorgeous sceneries and uninhabited land. You can experience views of an untouched and natural environment composed of beautiful lakes and rivers. It has oceans, mountains, plains, and some of the most attractive cities in the world, like Toronto.

Requirements

  1. All travelers, including Indians, have to mandatorily provide a negative Covid-19 test report taken within 72 hours (3 days) before their entry to Canada.
  2. They must be vaccinated with both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.

At the moment, the Canadian government accepts Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca/Covishield, and Johnson and Johnson vaccines.  Those who haven’t been fully vaccinated or have been inoculated with a vaccine yet to be approved by Canada must quarantine themselves for three days at a government-approved hotel while waiting for their report of a COVID-19 test done on arrival at the airport. Travelers who have previously contracted the virus need to mandatorily provide proof of the COVID-19 test conducted between 14-90 days prior to their entry.

2. Maldives

It is a collection of tiny coral islands well known for its crystalline waters with different shades of blue, palm trees, white-sand beaches, and limitless blue skies. As it is a tropical country it has good weather throughout most of the year, it is best for a quick getaway from India.

Travelers have to mandatorily carry a negative RT-PCR test, and also reportedly submit a health declaration form on the Maldives immigration portal 24 hours before departure from their home country.

No mandatory isolation or test is reportedly required on arrival.

3. Germany

Germany is located in the heart of Europe is famous for its old-world charm and unique culture. You can visit the many museums, medieval architectural sites and experience the culture, food, and wine.

 Indian travelers, who have been administered with both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine or who can show proof of recovery from the virus, will not be required to isolate themselves on their arrival in Germany.

4. Iceland

It offers stunning natural views and experiences in the wilderness. This is also a time when Iceland is not that filled with tourists. You can go snowmobiling on glaciers, visit natural ice caves, see the dancing northern lights, bathe in a hot spring where the hot steam meets the brisk frosty air, and even go on road trips to see snow-covered waterfalls.

Travelers who have been fully vaccinated or have recovered from the virus can enter Iceland. A vaccination certificate/proof of a previous infection is a must. There are no testing or quarantine requirements.

5. Egypt

The land of Pharaohs takes you back in time and lets you learn about their ancient culture. Beautiful temples with intricate carvings and hieroglyphics are what Egypt has to offer.

All arriving international travelers will need to present a negative PCR test certificate for COVID-19 taken at the most 72 hours prior to arrival.

6. Russia

It is rich in history, art, and architecture and has a colorful culture. The Red Square in Moscow and the Galleries and museums are some of the places to visit here.

It recently resumed flight operations in a move to revive its tourism industry. Passengers entering the Federation must have a printed negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued at most 72 hours before arrival.

7. Turkey

It has some of the most beautiful beaches and architectural sites. Istanbul is one of the top travel destinations in the world. Turkish cuisine is also very unique.

It’s mandatory to carry a negative PCR test result to travel to Turkey. The test must have been conducted not more than 72 hours before boarding their flight. Also, travelers will have to undergo quarantine for 14 days in locations determined by Turkish authorities. One may also be subjected to random PCR testing upon their arrival.

8. Costa Rica

It is known for its incredible national parks, where tourists can enjoy some thrilling activities like river rafting, canyoning, cave tubing, and zip-lining. The wildlife here includes macaws, sea turtles, and adorable sloths. Arenal Volcano and Tortuguero National Park are some of the most visited places.

Indians can now travel to Costa Rica, and will neither need a  certificate or an RT-PCR test report. All travelers will have to fill out a health pass form upon arrival at rainforested Central America.

9. Armenia

the beautiful churches and scenic views are a  hit among travelers. You can enjoy the delicious food, rich cultural heritage and visit a lot of historic sites

Travelers are asked to present the results of a PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival or take to a PCR test at the airport.

10. Serbia

Also known as the land of relaxation Serbia can be a good travel destination for a quick getaway, it has a large number of spas all across the country and the majestic Carpathian and Balkan mountains.

Passengers must have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued at least 42 hours before arrival.

These are some of the countries that have opened for Indian tourists. With necessary precautions, tourists can start traveling internationally and enjoy these beautiful travel destinations.
