1. Ajmer Sharif Dargah
Based in Ajmer, Ajmer Sharif Dargah is one of the religious places to worship in India. Ajmer Dargah is not only for Muslims but for all castes and religions. Khwaja Moin-Ud-Din Chisti, the God of the shrine, was a famous Sufi saint. It is believed that he was the first man to establish the righteous values of Islam. Moin-Ud-Din Chishti spent his whole life taking care of poor and impecunious people.
Every year his shrine is visited by millions of people. This Dargah has other attractions like tombs, concourses, and Daalaans. The significant structures in the shrine complex are- Nizam Gate, Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, Aulia Masjid, Dargha Shrine, and Mehfilkhana. 2. The Golden Temple
Harmandir Sahib-Amritsar, fondly called Golden Temple, is engraved with gold and is located in Amritsar city of Punjab. This temple has four eye-catching doors, and it is encompassed by a beautiful lake. The most famous festival of Punjab is Baisakhi, which is celebrated here with great enthusiasm and is the best time to visit. Food is served throughout the day in a massive dining hall, and it is traditionally called ‘Langar’.
3. Churches in Goa
Goa is not all about beaches and parties but it is also known for its churches. St. Augustine’s church in Goa is a major symbol of Christianity. The length of this chapel is 46 meters high. This chapel is located on the holy hill of Monte Santo and is the biggest and one of the most famous chapels in Goa. It was built by Augustinian Friars in 1602. The church was abandoned in 1835 because of the policies of the Portuguese government.
At present, the church is regarded as the best place to visit in Goa. Its surroundings are as beautiful as the chapel. There are others like this one as well, and this one has strong reasons to be part of the list of most visited religious places in India.
4. Shirdi Sai Baba
The name Sai Baba is a revered Hindu god who is supremely powerful and miraculous. This popular temple of Sai Baba is located in Shirdi town in Maharashtra. This temple is the most amazing structure, which was constructed overhead on the samadhi of Shri Sai Baba. Sai Baba was a very humble and famous Hindu Saint. He stayed in Shirdi and did miracles there. It is believed that whosoever comes to his temple does not return empty-handed. That’s why not only Hindus but people from all religions come to visit this temple.
5. Amarnath Cave
Amarnath Cave is a paradise for mountain and trekking lovers as the surroundings of the temple are based in the range of the Himalayas. There is a miraculous Ice Pillar, which is named Ice Shivling. Hindu followers regard it as sacred and pure. That’s the reason why Amarnath is one of the most important expeditions in India for the worshippers of Lord Shiva. Millions of tourists come here to see the Shivling and to do Amarnath Yatra.
This Amarnath cave is positioned in an isolated location. There are sacred things hidden to worship as well. Hindus know it very well, but the overall place is so beautiful and worth visiting.

6. Savitri Temple, Pushkar
The Savitri temple is one of the remarkable and outstanding religious sites in Pushkar. There is an old story behind the construction of this temple. Savitri was the wife of God Brahma. She decided to reach the Yagana but reached the spot late, by which time the ceremony had already begun. In order to finish the yagna on time, Gayatri who was a local girl married Brahma and became the second wife of Brahma. Savitri got very angry when she heard this and cursed Lord Brahma that he would not be worshipped anywhere in the world other than Pushkar. In order to calm her down, the shrine of Savitri Devi was constructed in Pushkar.
