Educational trips are a nice way for children to understand concepts from that textbook in a more practical way. Moreover, these school trips give children memories for a lifetime as well as let them develop life skills. Children spend time alone with their friends without the supervision of their parents and learn how to manage themselves. It helps inculcate values like strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking into teaching.

A Magical Learning Opportunity

There is something magical about going on a school trip with friends and no family. Not only is it a huge learning opportunity it also lets them make memories that with last for a lifetime. The child learns to take responsibility and gets to experience being independent and not under someone’s supervision. Sometimes the few days of a school trip will be more of a learning experience than an entire month of sitting in a classroom.

When learning is shifted from classrooms to real-life situations, children can grasp concepts better. Taking children on educational trips helps them expand their worldview and they get to have cultural experiences which enrich them as a person. An educational trip to a zoo will let children see the animals they have read about in books. Similarly, a museum or a historic monument will arouse their interest in the history of that place. When children learn through real-life experiences they develop a better understanding. History will not be a boring subject anymore if children learn about the history of a place or a monument by visiting it.

School Trips Destinations in India

There is something unique about every state in India and hence there is an opportunity to learn something in every corner of the country. There are many educational trip destinations in India, and these have been mentioned below:

  1. Hampi in the state of Karnataka was the capital of the Vijayanagar Empire. It has also been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Children can see the ruins of the town hall, the Hampi Bazaar, and the famous Virupaksha Temple and understand the daily life of people in the 15th century.
  2. Nalanda in Bihar is the oldest university in India. Here, children can see statues and inscriptions and learn about the Gupta dynasty, about which they would have s read about in their textbooks.
  3. Manali in Himachal Pradesh is an interesting educational trip destination where children can experience activities like outdoor camping, river rafting and hiking, etc.

Pench in Madhya Pradesh, Kaziranga National Park in Assam, and Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand are places where children can go on forest safaris and even enjoy elephant rides.

Educational tours to cities like Bombay and Kolkata will help them learn about Colonial rule as they will be able to visit buildings and offices from that time period.

Stories and Memories

The beauty of traveling is that you create stories that can be shared. When traveling alone, children develop better friendships and make unforgettable memories. After 14 years of school life, children will not take back memories of sitting in a classroom learning something but they will definitely take back memories from their school trips.

Leaving a job completely to start travelling and blogging is not always necessary, as I found out. Learning about different cultures helps one become a better person, which is often the only thing that matters.
