Bikaner is a city in Rajasthan, that is known for its cultural heritage and the best place to see traditional and modern architecture. There are many historical Bikaner tourist Places that depict the tale of royal families and the glorious past of Rajasthan. Bikaner is situated in the northern region of Rajasthan. It was established in the year 1488 AD by Rao Bika Ji, a Rajput prince. In Bikaner, civilization was at its peak even before the Harappan Civilization. This place has beautiful and mind-blowing temples that display superb architecture and boast the finesse of the Rajput civilization. These are the Buikaner’s famous places.

Here are the six favorite Bikaner places to visit for tourists to this city.

1. Junagarh Fort

Raja Rai Singh constructed the Junagarh fort in 1593. It is believed that crocodiles were cultivated in the water channel surrounding the tremendous fort. The architecture is beautifully constructed with a fine blend of Mughal, Gujarati, and Rajput styles. The architecture inside the fort is also amazing and inspiring.

Attractive parts of this fort like Anup Mahal, Chandra Mahal, Hawa Mahal, Dungar Mahal, Diwane-e-Khas, and Ganga Mahal.

2. Lalgarh Palace

Lalgarh Palace is the most adoring place in Bikaner. It was built by Maharaja Ganga Singh in 1902 in memory of his beloved father Maharaja Lal Singh Ji. The red sandstone structure is a marvelous example of past architecture and European style.

The huge lawn house here is full of peacocks. They dance together on the lawn and that sight is eye-catching. Here you can see a library, card room, billiards room, and many other rooms. Apart from the palace, the museum is not public as this place has been changed into a lavish hotel.

3. Ganga Singh Museum

This museum was founded by Maharaja Ganga Singh in 1937. It was constructed even before the appearance of the Harappan Civilization. The museum has a lot to admire and its marvelous collections include paintings, pottery, weapons used by Rajput, and a lot more. The museum has an array of terracotta artwork and artifacts from the Indus Valley Civilization and Kalinagan, along with items from Badopal, Rangmahal, Hanumangarh, and Suratgarh.

4. Shri Laxminath Temple

Shri Laxminath Temple was built by Maharaja Lunkaran of Bikaner in 1526. It is one of the oldest temples of the city which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and goddess Laxmi who are the main deities of Bikaner. The best part of this temple is that it’s made of white marble and real sandstone and decorated with awesome paintings and sculptures. On the other hand, doorways get finely engraved handwork and silver color designs.

5. Gajner Palace

Gajner Palace is among the best tourist spots in Bikaner. The castle was built by

Maharaja Ganga Singh Ji for hunting and spending vacation. The entire palace has been constructed with red sandstone and proudly flaunts beautifully sculpted pillars, jharokhas, screens, etc. There is a thick forest in the middle of the palace that preserves birds and animals like Sand Goose, Antelopes, Black Bucks, Nilgais, Chinkaras, Blue Bull, and Deer.

6. Jain Temple

Jain Temple was constructed by  Bhandasa Oswal in 1468. It has been built in Rajputana style and the architecture in it is evident in the construction of this temple. It is designed uniquely and decorated with sculpted pillars, gold leaves, mirror work, red sandstone, and white marble. Followers of Jainism come here to worship their God every day.
