During the second wave of Coronavirus, India topped the chart in registering daily cases. India received the highest number of Covid cases in a day reaching up to 4 lakh. This issue forced other countries to ban traveling for Indian tourists. Countries like Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Canada, Europe, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States are included in this list.

Although all of the above have put restrictions on travel from India, there are still a few countries that accept an Indian passport. Indian tourists are permitted to enter only after following a set procedure. So if you are also willing to travel to some country then you can visit these destinations for a holiday or any other purpose.

These three countries haven’t banned Indians:

1. Russia

Russia is among those few countries that haven’t banned Indian tourists. You can travel to Russia if you have a tourist visa. However, it would be difficult for you to get air transport as only a few flights are operating. So please ensure your booking and accommodation are properly.

If you reach Russia then you will have to isolate yourself and go through necessary health checkups and RT-PCR tests. This test will be done within three days of arrival. A negative test report of the RT-PCR test is also required to board the flight.

Older reports aren’t accepted by the airlines and that’s why the test must be done within 72 hours of boarding. Also, your reports should be in either English or Russian. If you are willing to travel to Russia then get yourself registered through the Public Service Portal of the Russian Federation. They will forward your request to the Health Declaration and if everything goes fine you will be allowed to visit the country.

2. Egypt

Egypt hasn’t banned India and you can still visit the famous Egyptian Pyramids after going through a simple procedure. Firstly, you will have to take a rapid DNA test on arrival. If by any chance you test positive, you will be sent back or put under a 14-day quarantine.

For flight boarding, an RT-PCR test must be done before 72 hours. You must have all the required documents to prove yourself as Covid-negative. Apart from that, in Egypt, health insurance is also compulsory to cover COVID-19 medical costs and accommodation costs in case of quarantine. All these details should be uploaded with the health declaration form. So use your Indian passport to visit Egypt.

3. South Africa and Turkey

Both South Africa and Turkey are allowing Indian tourists into their territory. However, they also have some set of rules that are similar to other countries. A negative RT-PCR test 72 hours before arrival is required for all travelers. Health checkups and screening will be done before and after boarding the flight and before entering and leaving the country.

In South Africa, tourists have to fill out a travel health questionnaire 48 hours before traveling. On the other hand, travelers to Turkey will be put under a 14-day quarantine. After 14 days, if they are tested negative then they will be allowed to explore the country. The same process will be followed at the time of departure.

Leaving a job completely to start travelling and blogging is not always necessary, as I found out. Learning about different cultures helps one become a better person, which is often the only thing that matters.
